Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman Faux TDKR set audio

christian-bale-and-morgan-freeman-faux-leaked-set-audio A collection of spoofed conversations between Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman on the set of The Dark Knight Rises has been getting some light buzz on youtube.  The humor is inconsistent across the 7-video series, but the highs are very high, and while the Morgan Freeman impression is only so-so, the Christian Bale voice has received raves.

“Morgan, just between us, were you asked to be in Inception?”

Dialogue w/ Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Nolan respects his audience

Christopher Nolan Respects his AudienceAnyone who was alive and aware for the past 10 years can see that Christopher Nolan’s Batman is different.  He succeeds where so many others fail: in Hollywood, in comics, in animated features, even when they are said to be based on his own works.  What makes Nolan’s Batman movies and Nolan’s movies across the board special?  Joseph Gordon-Levitt put it succinctly and powerfully in a recent interview with What’s something that you’re learned about the filmmaking process from working with Christopher Nolan? What has he shown you that maybe you haven’t seen before?

JGL: You know man, that’s a good question! One thing I feel like I’ve learned from Chris is that he respects his audience. It’s unfortunately rare in Hollywood. You see it all time with people saying, ‘Ah, the public won’t get that’ or ‘They’re dumb’ or ‘You have to spell it out for them,’ etc…  But I’ve heard Chris say time and time again just the opposite. People are smart. Don’t underestimate them. He says things like that all the time, and I think his respect for his audience is a big part of why he has earned the respect of his audience.

Gordon-Levitt has starred in Nolan’s masterwork Inception, which certainly complimented its audience’s intelligence at every turn, assuming they could keep up with a complex multi-layered plotline.  JGL is working with Nolan again on The Dark Knight Rises, his third and final installment of the Dark Knight trilogy which began with Batman Begins.

Christopher Nolan and DiCaprio reunite for Twilight Zone movie ?

DiCaprio wants Inception Director Christopher Nolan for The Twilight Zone movieInception star Leonardo DiCaprio is producing a new Twilight Zone movie and everyone is tweeting and blogging that Christopher Nolan is the top of the list to direct.

Unlike the 1983 version, the new film will boast only a single storyline (from The Astronaut’s Wife writer Rand Ravich), which will touch on several themes from the original Rod Serling show, such as the idea that man’s fate is determined almost entirely by irony. And in keeping with ditching the anthology format (previously split up among Steven Spielberg, John Landis, Joe Dante, and George Miller), Warner Bros. is looking for just a single director this time

Everyone from “Warner Bros.” “Warner Bros Execs” “Variety” “Hollywood Insiders” and DiCaprio himself are said to be speiling of lists of three or four names including Michael Bay, Alfonso Cuaron and Rupert Wyatt, but always starting off with Nolan.

Anyway, not surprisingly, Nolan is considered the front-runner to take on the project, thanks to his close relationship with DiCaprio, who probably discussed the project with Nolan during their daily Harpo Marx mirror routine. However, Bay is also reportedly very interested—though given the tragedy that befell Vic Morrow on the first Twilight Zone, and Bay’s own history with on-set injuries, maybe not tempting fate is as good a reason as any to not have a Michael Bay-directed Twilight Zone movie. In the meantime, all four directors are probably wondering how they came to be suddenly trapped together, trying to determine the nature of their relationship and growing increasingly desperate with every passing moment, as they begin to turn on each other out of paranoid terror, until they discover that they’re the same but now everyone else is different, and also they time-traveled but it was Earth all along.

XV “The Kick” | Music inspired by Nolan’s Inception

You might think that the visuals and plot of Christopher Nolan’s Inception were the inspiration for rapper XV’s new release “The Kick”, you might think a rapper would have no use for composer Hans Zimmer’s cyclic score, but Zimmer’s “Time” (which plays at the conclusion of the film) is indeed sampled in XV’s Kick.

The cover art should be the first clue as to where XV drew the inspiration from in his newest release called “The Kick”. Dig deeper and you’ll be engaged on the first listen to a passionate and personal outpouring of lyricism, that, yes, cleverly alludes to the film Inception. “The Kick” is a *Tibs Fav.™ I appreciate, but also not the first time a rapper has directly referenced the film…

Hans Zimmer tribute | Sputnik Reviews

the-dark-knight-rises-composer-academy-award-winner-hans-zimmer-tributeBloggers and social networks aren’t as quick to note the contribution of a movie composer like Hans Zimmer.  He may not be as telegenic as Leonardi di Caprio in Inception or Christian Bale and Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, nor is his contribution to a musical movie like the Lion King as flashy as Elton John’s, but at least one blogger noted his birthday yesterday with a suitable tribute.

One of the most important things in a movie is not the script, not the acting, but the score.  One of the best composers in the business today was born in West Germany 54 years ago and has been working in film for the last 28.  He has scored some great films with amazing score.  He has scored: Driving Miss Daisy, Thelma & Louise, The Lion King, Mission Impossible II, The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes, Inception and many other movies in between.  Like Akira Kurosawa, if you do not know this Academy Award Winning composer, then stop here, go listen to his scores and come back and agree with this post.  May I honour, Hans Zimmer.

Here are some songs from his soundtracks:

Happy Birthday to Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/TDKR Composer Hans Zimmer

Happy Birthday, Hans Zimmer, Composer for The Dark Knight Rises

Happy 54th Birthday to German-born composer Hans Zimmer.

Zimmer has composed music for over 100 films including Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises currently shooting in Los Angeles, as well as Nolan’s non-Batman projects like Inception.

Disney fans may be more familiar with “The Lion King” (due for a big-screen re-release in 3D), “Muppets Treasure Island” and “The Pirates of the Caribbean Series”.

Trailer: TDKR star Tom Hardy’s other film WARRIOR coming out September 9th

We probably cannot expect the media frenzy for Tom Hardy’s Warrior that we saw surrounding other Dark Knight Rises stars recent film premieres.  It doesn’t involve Harry Potter and Hardy doesn’t look as good in a cocktail dress as Anne Hathaway so we probably can’t expect to see him in as many magazine fashion spreads.  But Warrior looks like a damn fine movie, and we at GT are anxious to see what the Nolan alum from Inception brings to the role…

Haunted by a tragic past, Marine Tommy Conlon (Hardy) returns home for the first time in fourteen years to enlist the help of his father (Nick Nolte) to train for Sparta, the biggest winner-takes-all event in mixed martial arts history. A former wrestling prodigy, Tommy blazes a path toward the championship while his brother, Brendan (Edgerton), an ex-fighter-turned teacher, returns to the ring in a desperate bid to save his family from financial ruin. But when Brendan’s unlikely, underdog rise sets him on a collision course with the unstoppable Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart, facing off in the most soaring, soul stirring, and unforgettable climax that must be seen to be believed.
