Warner Bros. Cancels Dark Knight Rises Paris Premiere
Warner Bros. has cancelled The Dark Knight Rises premiere in Paris as well as interviews with the cast in light of the Aurora shooting at last night’s premiere screening.
Warner Bros., released a joint statement with The Dark Knight Rises filmmakers that they are all “deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time.”
Chairman and CEO of the Motion Pictures Association of America, Sen. Chris Dodd, said in a statement Friday that the organization shares “the shock and sadness of everyone in the motion picture community at the news of this terrible event. We extend our prayers and deepest sympathies to the victims, their loved ones and all those affected by this tragedy.”
The Dark Knight Rises is Christopher Nolan’s third and final installment of his Batman trilogy, starring Christian Bale (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Tom Hardy (Bane), Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and other Nolan alums Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard, released by Warner Bros. July 2012
