Batman-Joker Top the 10 Best Rivalries of All Time
It really should surprise no one that Joker is Batman’s #1 villain. He has battled the Dark Knight in DC Comics since Batman #1, and has been portrayed by actors as diverse as Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill and Heath ledger in every incarnation of the Caped Crusader’s adventures.
That Joker is the #1 villain should surprise no one (except maybe that cult that follows Ra’s al Ghul). That the Batman/Joker rivalry should top so many lists, supplanting not only Harry Potter vs Vodemort but The New York Yankees vs. The Boston Red Sox that is something of a shock. The latest was from WordPress’s own Professor Po.
I can’t believe I landed on this as my number one, but can you tell me a rivalry that’s outright better than this one? Through comics, TV shows, and a movie, Batman and the Joker has always been an extremely attractive matchup. Perhaps the GOAT (greatest of all time, for you chumps out there) hero and villain respectively, these two have entertained fans for years. This rivalry also fits the perpetual bill like no other – Batman won’t kill because it’s against his moral code, the Joker won’t kill because their rivalry is “too much fun.” I can’t even think of any Jokes to make (no jokes about the Joker? Wait, was that a joke? Infinite loop…) about this rivalry because it’s just too damn good.
Joker is the favorite Batman Villain. Well duh.
