“Dark Knight” Filming To Close Streets in Downtown Pittsburgh

Drivers in downtown Pittsburgh can expect to see some new road closures as the cast and crew of “The Dark Knight Rises” move into the heart of the city this week.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 9 THROUGH THURSDAY, AUGUST 11 (DOWNTOWN)

Oliver Avenue from Wood Street to Grant Street will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.

Smithfield Street from Fifth Avenue to Sixth Avenue will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.

There will be intermittent traffic control on Grant Street, William Penn Place and Wood Street.

Sidewalks will have limited access while we are filming.  Once filming has stopped public assistants will help you through our closures to get you to open stores, restaurants and office buildings.  Pedestrians may experience short delays during filming.

The Oliver Avenue garage will be closed all day on August 10th.  Customers of this parking facility can park at the Mellon Square Garage.

Production vehicles will be parked on Fifth Avenue, Wood Street and 6th Avenue.  All of these streets and sidewalks will be open.

The north side curb lane of Fifth Avenue from Smithfield to Liberty Avenue will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.

The west side curb lane of Wood Street from Liberty Avenue to Fifth Avenue will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.

The south side curb lane of Sixth Avenue from Wood Street to Smithfield Street will be closed from 6pm on Tuesday, August 9th through 5am on Thursday, August 11th.
