Before Selina/Hepburn there was Anne/Oscar: Dressing Anne Hathaway for the Academy Awards, tonight on The Rachel Zoe Project
Now that we’ve seen glimpses of the elegance, style and class Selina Kyle is to evoke in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the timing of her hosting Academy Awards within days of her being announced for the role of Selina/Catwoman has a new significance. ”Was this the first subliminal signal that class and style, elegance and privilege were finally to be returned to the Feline Fatale?” we wondered.

Anne’s stunning looks for the evening were crafted by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, who stars in a reality show on the Bravo TV Network. Tonight’s episode of The Rachel Zoe Project will go behind the scenes and show what went on creating those fabulous looks.

With the latest pictures of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle evoking the elegance, style and grace of Hepburn (Katherine, Audrey or both depending on who you talk to), it might be a good time to revisit Anne’s eye-popping appearance hosting the Academy Awards, dressed in perfect look after perfect look by the incomparable Rachel Zoe. At the time, everyone wondered where this strange hosting choice came from, but a savvy few noted the announcement of the Oscar gig came within days of the news that Hathaway would be playing Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, in Christopher Nolan’s third and final Batman epic The Dark Knight Rises. Was this the first subliminal signal that class and style, elegance and privilege were finally to be returned to the Feline Fatale?
