Kim Kardashian Dons Sexy Burton-Style Catwoman Suit for Halloween
Can’t blame Kim Kardashian for wanting to dress as Catwoman for this year’s Batman-themed Halloween shindig when she went as Poison Ivy to a non-theme party last year. Also can’t fault her for rejecting Christopher Nolan’s angry, bitter version of Selina Kyle in favor of the Michelle Pfeifer costume, sporting claws instead of a gun, and an attitude more befitting the queen of Gotham’s Night.

Kim Kardashian flaunted her best assets in a skin-tight Catwoman PVC suit. The reality star joined boyfriend Kanye West and her family for a Halloween bash at LIV at Fountainebleau in Miami Beach on Wednesday, October 31 night.
Kim was into the character so much that she posed for the photographers with her claws on and her lips pouted. She arrived at the party in a gold Lamborghini with Kanye who was dressed as Batman. Kim’s version of Catwoman is more of the design worn by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992′s “Batman Returns” while Kanye kept his costume simple with a Batman mask and a balaclava to cover his face.

Batman, Catwoman, Bane Character Posters, US and International release
There are two new trios of posters for The Dark Knight Rises, one for the U.S. market and one for International release. Those distinctions may have met something before the internet, but today, we all enjoy both. Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane in a starker costume than the open tan trench we have seen, and Anne Hathaway in the regrettable goggles but with enough detail now showing in the texture of her costume that we see its similarity to Batman’s. Hmmm.
Maybe to make it up to her, there is one additional poster featuring Catwoman, from the knee down. Reowl.
Top Posts of the Week: Batman finally on top of Catwoman, just in time for Valentine’s Day
Fine, call us sexists. We at the Gotham Trending office try to remain impartial but we are men, and seeing Catwoman, Anne Hathaway and Selina Kyle beating Bruce Wayne, Christian Bale and Batman week after week for the top spot in his own movie, we can’t help it. We can’t help but root for the underdog and we can’t help but cheer now that Bruce/Christian/Dark Knight has finally won the day.

Top Posts of the Week: Sexy Anne tops Bale, Gordon-Levitt at Golden Globes or First Look at TDKR Batcave
Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s 50/50 was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture and Christian Bale’s Flowers of War was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, there was a stunning new picture of Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne “in the Batcave” although all we see of the cave is the Batsuit behind him. Hot New Location Photos: Not Bruce and Selina this time. It’s Batman and Catwoman IN FULL COSTUME (or is it?)
Here we go again. First, a titilating set of new set photos from the Los Angeles location shooting of The Dark Knight Rises. It’s not Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle this time, it’s Batman and Catwoman. And yes, those be CAT EARS. The lady is now goggle-free, which does give the rest of the outfit a decided Julie Newmar appearance. But is this the “full Catwoman costume” as Cinemablend, Total Film and others are reporting?
After the notorious goggle picture, Anne Hathaway said we had only seen 10% of the catsuit. She’s replaced the goggles with a proper cat mask and we have ears. Does that really constitute a 90% addition, or is this just another tease?
Gotham Trending thinks it’s likely The Dark Knight Rises may be taking a page from Iron Man and slyly alluding to different costumes before presenting its own new iconic look.
Tom Hardy “enhancements” (i.e. lifts) to play Bane | The Sun
It’s amusing how fanboys at a certain website try to appear sophisticated by dismissing the “enhancements” described to help Tom Hardy play Bane in The Dark Knight Rises because they are from an article in the British tabloid The Sun. The Sun is certainly no titan of journalism, but neither are the fanboys, for they use this story (which they pass on while claiming not to believe it) as a platform to whine anew about:
- Christian Bale’s bat-voice (Yes, still whining since 2005)
- Bane’s voice (which they have only heard in low quality youtubes from the Pittsburgh location shooting and have no idea if what they heard will be used in the final film
- and Bane’s costume which they claim has drawn fan fire.
That last is very odd. We don’t remember anybody bitching about Bane’s mask or costume, only Catwoman’s lackluster appearance in un-Catwoman goggles and a non-descript biker outfit.
He’s been wearing specially made shoes fitted with three-inch lifts so he can be the same size as co-stars Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman.
The former model is hardly struggling for height at 5ft 9in.
But the film’s producers wanted his character, Bane, to be of similar height to Batman and Freeman’s Lucius Fox, who are both over 6ft.
Wearing Tom Cruise’s shoes has led to some ribbing.
He’s also been the victim of on-set pranks. Tom wears a voice box which controls the pitch of his speech.
It’s set low to give him a villainous tone but the sound effects team have been amusing themselves by speeding up the frequency and making To`m sound like a Bee Gee.

Top posts of the week: Warrior boosts Tom Hardy and Bane back into TDKR searches
Remember #thefirerises? Remember that picture of Tom Hardy as Bane? Hardy was the face of back of head of The Dark Knight Rises pre-production excitement. Until Catwoman. After the pictures of Anne Hathaway began to appear, Mr. Hardy couldn’t break into the top 10 leading a trio of camo-painted tumblers into a football stadium. But now, at last, with the release of Warrior, the net has started to notice him again, and the Bat-searches have remembered this isn’t just “The Catwoman movie.”

Top posts of the week:
There is no question what the draw of The Dark Knight Rises production is: Bruce and Selina. The set photos of Los Angeles location filming with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle jumped to the top of the week’s most popular posts despite being released very late in the week. We haven’t seen a Thursday or Friday post make the Top 10 this way since the video of Bale and Hathaway as Bruce and Selina on the steps of Wayne Manor.

Batman and Catwoman Cosplay: The Best of Dragon Con
Cosplayers are the real stars of Comic Book Conventions, and in the days following a big con, Flickr and Tumblr are flooded with pictures of the best and the worst. We at GT had to single out this grouping. With so many Catwoman costumes to choose from, the classic skirted costume known to modern fans from The Brave and the Bold cartoon, we must commend this Cat’s taste as well as the quality of her costume. Top marks for quality to Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, and Robin as well.
Anne Hathaway at the European Premiere of One Day in London (August 23, 2011)
We had a feast of red carpet and talk show appearances as The Dark Knight Rises star Anne Hathaway promoted her new movie One Day in America during an internet flurry of controversy surrounding her disappointingly Un-Catwomanesque appearance in the first photo of her as either Selina Kyle or Catwoman in Nolan’s final installment of The Dark Knight trilogy. While we share the collective disappointment in what we’ve seen of Catwoman, we cannot get enough of Anne looking radiantly beautiful and oh so stylish and sexy, apart from some ill-chosen sunglasses at The Daily Show. Luckily, One Day is just opening in London. Here she is at the European opening in London.

Beyond the Screen: Latitude Study Profiles the New Gamers « Imagine That
With games like Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham City sometimes stumbling to make a sequel live up to expectations raised by a fabulously popular original, it’s important for game makers to keep abreast not of what the landscape is now but what it will be two years from now when their efforts hit the market. Simply taking cues from the comics in matters of a costume can derail a promotional campaign before it’s even begun. Understanding players and what they want rather than serving another company’s agenda is paramount.
Study Finds 95% of Gamers Want to Move Games out of the Screen, into the “Offline” World
Over the past few years, the popularity of mobile phones and tablets have contributed to an explosion in gaming by offering users the newfound ability to game anytime and anywhere. A study just released by the research consultancy, Latitude, offers a deeper-dive investigation into the new gaming landscape and the profile of tomorrow’s gamer, suggesting opportunities for both game developers and companies across industries.
The study included a Web survey of 290 smartphone owners between the ages of 15-54 who self-identified as “casual gamers,” with nearly half labeling themselves “game enthusiasts.” More than two-thirds said they expect to be gaming even more over the next few years.
A Video Portrait of the New Gamers
In conjunction with The Future of Gaming survey, Latitude conducted a series of expert interviews with both game makers and game enthusiasts, culminating in the production of a mini-documentary, The Future of Gaming: a Portrait of the New Gamers. This thought-provoking snapshot of the new gaming landscape serves up fresh, insider perspectives on how games have evolved, and who exactly is playing today — or will be tomorrow.
“Our interviews are meant to brings to life what we found in the study: that the new gamers are connected — often outgoing — people who live and play in the ‘real world,’ and who have a serious interest in bettering themselves and society as a whole,” says Dan Hemmerly-Brown, the video’s director and an Innovation Engineer at Latitude. “These conversations have even inspired Latitude to consider possibilities for building game elements into our own research techniques and technologies.”
Who are the New Gamers?
The study found that the stereotype of the reclusive gamer is outdated; this emerging demographic is social, heavily engaged with the “offline” world, and extremely goal-oriented — with a strong drive to improve themselves and the world around them. The new gamers are not constrained to any single platform, and have many different motivations for gaming in addition to just having fun [See 'New Gamers -- Infographic']. Moreover, they expect that online games will continue to move out of the traditional screen environment, blending seamlessly with the “offline” world in new and engaging ways that go beyond just “checking in” with apps like Foursquare and SCVNGR.
“This study is part of our larger People Connected initiative, a series designed to offer a snapshot of intentionally small groups who are currently redefining what’s possible through the Web,” says Neela Sakaria, Senior Vice President of Latitude. “We go beyond just identifying changes in technology, delving deeply into technology’s potential impact on us as people — how we think, relate to each other, and approach our daily lives. Profiling dynamic user groups like ‘the new gamers’ gives us a window into how companies can not only develop meaningful tech experiences today but, more excitingly, grasp opportunities that are just on the horizon.”
The study pinpointed three key insights summarizing what the new gamers are expecting for the future:
1. Games Go Beyond the Screen
Eager to get beyond their smartphone screens, gamers are actively seeking new levels of interactivity, more intuitive interfaces (e.g., gestural or telepathic controls), and personalization of the physical world that mirrors what’s possible online. Future games should register and respond to people as they exist in the offline world, which may mean using a player’s location, mood or stress level as metrics in a game, or allowing players to overlay virtual environments or information onto their actual surroundings, as with augmented reality.Study participants expressed an overwhelming desire for immersive integration of digital content with traditionally offline spaces and activities:
-95 percent would like to see more games that do a better job of combining digital content with the real, physical world.
-90 percent agreed that current and future technologies will play a critical role in extending games beyond the traditional screen environment, moving them out into the real world.
“The gamers of tomorrow won’t be limited by platform or location. As technology becomes more seamlessly integrated with our lives, everyone will be a gamer, and the world around us will become the ultimate playing field,” explains Natalie Stehfest, a senior research analyst who led the study and who heads up Latitude’s qualitative research team. “Technology will allow us to measure — and, ultimately, improve — ourselves in the context of our daily activities and surroundings. Many people making small changes can have a large impact in society, and this study suggests that the new gamers are ready to ‘level-up,’and be challenged in this way.”

Anne Hathaway on Catwoman “The character’s naughty anyway, so if I was perfectly behaved I wouldn’t be honoring her” | The Marquee Blog, CNN

Anne Hathaway, Selina Kyle/The Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. "The character is naughty, so if I was perfectly behaved I wouldn’t be honoring her"
Last week after the famously un-catwoman-esque Catwoman picture came out, a reporter rather tactlessly asked Anne Hathaway how much weight she had lost to fit into the catsuit, and as one blogger put it “adorability ensued.” This week, Hathaway is more forthcoming about her preparations to play Selina Kyle, The Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.
While prepping to play Selina Kyle in “The Dark Knight Rises,” Hathaway is committed – not only has she switched up her lifestyle to accommodate the reality that she’s got to fit into a catsuit, but she even considered getting a cat to examine, just for the role.
“I actually had this moment when I convinced one of the assistant directors on the London portion of the film to get a cat with me, the idea being that we were going to get a kitten from a rescue shelter, and he was going to live with me, and I was going to observe it, and when I left London I was going to give it to her,” Hathaway recalled to Chelsea Handler in Interview magazine.
“Then, thankfully, her husband pointed out that that was a terrible idea on so many levels, not the least of which being that it would probably be really confusing to the cat.”
But she doesn’t only have to get the character right – she also has to work on her physique. Although she’s explained to Handler on her show, E!’s “Chelsea Lately,” before that she doesn’t like working out, it seems the 28-year-old actress has found a way to embrace it.
“I really like it now. Actually, I think I’d never really gotten over the hump – there’s a workout hump where you’re so weak everything is painful and you look like an idiot,” she says. “The gym where I work out, I was literally working out next to a pregnant Jessica Alba, and she could do more push-ups than I could.”
Now, though, she’s starting to take up Bikram yoga, and “like, living on kale and dust, for the training,” she tells Handler on her show. “The catsuit’s unforgiving man. [I get into the suit] with a lot of motivation…it takes three of us. And the movie I think shoots over six months, so it’s not like you focus your efforts for one day, [you have to] really get into it.”
While that does mean that she’s ceased doing a lot of indulging, she hasn’t become a complete teetotaler.
“You’ve gotta have a little fun,” she says of drinking just a bit. “The character’s naughty anyway, so if I was perfectly behaved I wouldn’t be honoring her.”

Gold Star: Anne Hathaway | cover of Interview
Anne Hathaway is burning up the Internet at the moment, promoting her new movie One Day while the controvercy rages about her un-Catwomanish in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, appearing on Conan, appearing in a stunning to-be-photographed dress as she travels from the TDKR shooting to Los Angeles to appear on Conan, and of course the magazines.
Feast your eyes on the spectacular September cover of Interview featuring Anne Hathaway. It’s all kinds of amazing in my eyes. I may be slightly biased I admit, being pant wettingly excited for One Day and having a lot of love to give Miss Hathaway. Either way she looks incredible.
